Narnia - Lewis
Bacchus/Edmund Pevensie

Aslan/Edmund Pevensue

Jewel/Tirian

I think of these three pairings as “interspecies weirdness in Narnia” ships. In a land where sentience belongs to trees and animals and mythical creatures as well as humans, where literal gods walk among them, romance and sex between species must exist. I would love to see it explored!

  • Edmund is an outsider, coming from our world and with our notions of relationships. How does he react when he becomes the object of fascination for a god? Especially a nonhuman one—I’m open to Bacchus shapeshifting into e.g. a satyr for this!

  • Tirian is a born and raised Narnian. In a novel where Jewel was a human, their story would be a clear-as-day case of childhood friends to lovers. Jewel is a unicorn, though: how does that work?

  • I’m very open to smut! From kinky PWP about creature-fucking to contemplative fics about negotiating the logistics of interspecies sex, give it to me.

  • Ritual sex for Edmund’s redemption is always cool. Bacchus makes a deal with the witch instead of Aslan? Aslan takes Edmund on the stone table in some sort of virginity-loss-as-rebirth metaphor?

I would prefer a fic that either ends before the conclusion of The Last Battle or ignores/fixes it. My MCD DNW applies here: ‘further up and further in’ is not the direction I’m hoping for with this request!

The Hill - Vachell
Reginald Scaife/John Verney

Access: Full text at Project Gutenberg

Scaife smiled cynically. He looked about a year older than John, but he had the air and manners of a man of the world—so John thought. Also, he was very good-looking, handsomer than Desmond.

The Hill is a public school novel with flaws, and I desperately want to see those interrogated. Vachell does not want us to like Reginald Scaife, his villain, because Scaife is from a nouveau riche family with (gasp, horror) a tradesman as a grandfather. John Verney, the protagonist, is a Christian moral paragon who deftly dodges the Demon (Scaife’s actual in-universe nickname), unlike his sad friend Henry Desmond. Unfortunately, Vachell put some very horny descriptions of Scaife in Verney’s mouth, and that alone creates a powerful sexual tension for our not-so-pure moral hero.

  • What if Verney’s attraction to Scaife were more explicit during their boarding school years? Miserable and furtive masturbation, kiss near-misses, charged conversations by the pond. I love Verney’s disgust at his own attraction.

  • But also: what if he gets over that disgust with a bit of help from Scaife?

  • Post-war, Scaife comes back to England as a decorated hero. Verney, working for some ministry, finds himself once again in the same social circle. How does the boyhood tension translate to an adult context?

  • Verney reaches out to Scaife (some priggish moralistic conversion) in the wake of Desmond’s death. Can Scaife suck him into debauchery? Perhaps, in a twist, Scaife is as devastated about the loss of Desmond as Verney.

My Mysterious Mademoiselle - Alcott
George Vane Vandeleur/George Vane

Access: Full text on Wikisource

This short story about a mischievous French teenager seducing his stolid English uncle is a delight. I love George Jr.’s whimsy and temper, and I love George Sr.’s genial sleaziness. He is very much flirting with his nephew!

  • Any sort of lighthearted farce fits them really well. Train sex? A more extended pretend relationship? There was only one bed at the seaside hotel, oh no!

  • Clothing porn!! Oh goodness give me all of your research into Victorian undergarments, give me costume changes for day and night, mix it up and have George Jr. in his mademoiselle combinations under his schoolboy military uniform.

  • First times with a twist! Is George Jr. a virgin, or isn’t he? Has George Sr. never bottomed before? Or perhaps he has, and shocks his nephew! The age gap gives you a lot of room to play around with expectations and show how each character handles them.

  • A post-canon reunion fic! Maybe they had a fling in France but went back to their respective lives; what happens when they meet again years later, with Junior all grown up?

The Locked Tomb - Muir
Colum Asht/Silas Octakiseron

The Eighth House adept and his cavalier primary have quickly become my favorite characters in this series. They’re a great mirror for the religious zealotry and complicated necro/cav relationship of the Ninth, and they can be a fun way to twist the perspective on the worldbuilding. Also, their loyalty kink and bioengineered-for-you thing is stupidly hot.

  • River bubble romance novel AUs. Give me the Silas/Colum meta-narrative fic which slots them into a tropey romance novel. Are either of them aware of this construct? How do they deal with the roles they’re forced into, especially when duty clashes with forbidden attraction?

  • Freaky religious sex is great for these guys. Silas staunchly refuses to admit this is sexual. Colum very much knows it is, but will never in his life be the one to say that, so he quietly suffers. It’s not just sex; it’s kinky sex. Hit me with your best shot.

  • Silas only behaves like this when he’s alone with Colum: I’d love to see private moments of Silas doing something unexpected with his cav. Cuddling? Being a chatterbox? Playing around as he’s bathed, splashing water at Colum? I like the idea that they trust each other uniquely.

  • Fix-it! Silas rescues Colum’s soul from the river, or Colum fights his way through the seething masses of dead to find his (also dead) necromancer. Let them be together again!

For the purposes of this request, my MCD DNW means that I would prefer a fic not end on their death. Picking up after their canon deaths and doing something in the river is great! As is canon-divergence so that they don’t die, or missing-scene fic that doesn’t go all the way through to their canon deaths.

Tokyo Bablyon - CLAMP
Sakurazuka Seishirou/Sumeragi Subaru

I love this series! I was so taken by the commentary on contemporaneous social issues in 1990s Japan. I would love to see those relationships to people, places, and events in a shipfic for these two. In particular, I love that Seishirou and Subaru have meaningful and interesting differences in how they respond to real-world issues, and I enjoy the tension between Subaru’s unsustainable generosity and Seishirou’s self-serving moderation. Some ideas:

  • Seishirou realizes his feelings before the end of the bet and decides not to kill Subaru. What does he do instead?

  • Subaru responds to Seishirou’s advances and they share a kiss or more. Maybe it’s just one bittersweet date, or maybe this turns into a fix-it.

  • Do-over! Time travel or whatever onmyouji shenanigans (ghosts of Christmas past/present/future but for that time you tried to kill your boyfriend?) leads one or both of them to starting over with the knowledge of how it ends. Or a time loop!

  • Role swap, age swap, different first meeting AU which changes up the power dynamics and maybe the outcome, too.

Note that I’m cool with X/1999 references, but I don’t care for the apocalypse plot and I’d prefer for that not to be a focus. I would also be happy to just ignore X and get fic set in an AU without a looming apocalypse/where the events of 1999 never occurred.
